The Last Dream

The Last Dream

Once upon a time there was a daydreamer boy. Except this feature of him, he was just like all other boys of his age.

He had so many ideas and dreams and loved to write books and short stories out of his ideas. You know, he once told me that his source of books were his dreams, but the problem was that he was dreaming even when he was awake, so you see that all the time he had new ideas and this vast source of ideas for stories made a complicated situation for him, as he loved all his dreams and he loved to write them all, but with the time and the problem of even dreaming while writing, he couldn’t finish even one of his stories!

So he decided to find a way for his problem. He thought and thought and thought and…

There it was his resolve for his problem. He decided to give priority to his dreams and he decided to give the most importance to the dreams he had at nights.

He was at last happy, for he could write his dreams completely.

So he went to bed so happy the first night.

That night he had a really great dream which could become a great screenplay and he was so happy about that, but when he woke up…

When he woke up he was so happy of his dream and decided to think about it a little before he get out of bed and write about it, but as he was thinking about his dream he added some detail and cut some parts. Then he yawned and decided to get out of bed, but he froze!

He had forgotten his dream and could just remember the parts he had added. He thought so hard and tried his best to remember his dream but it was already gone.

He was so sad about what had happened and the reality that the world lost a great screen play that would never be written by anybody else again, because the only one who had experienced that dream was he. But when he looked outside the window, he remembered that as he sleeps every night, he can have another dream the next night and the forthcomings so he laughed and came out of the bed.

That day passed like all other days of his life and he daydreamed all day long till the bed time.

He went to bed so happy, waiting for his forthcoming great dream to be written. That night he again had a really great dream and was so happy about that.

When he woke up he was so happy. He got out of bed so fast and went to his desk for a pen and a paper, but when he found them, he again froze…

He again had forgotten his dream. But today he didn’t become sad as he knew that he had the upcoming nights.

That day his day was spent half thinking on his last two night's dreams and half on his new daydreaming.

That night he put a pen and a paper on his bedside table and went to sleep in wish of another great dream and actually he had one of his best, but this time when he woke up, he didn’t even had time to pick up the pen and the paper, he had already forgotten his dream as soon as he woke up.

That day all his time was spent on remembering his last three days dreams' and nothing was spent on his daydreaming.

That night when he went to bed, something really weird happened to him! He had a nightmare.

He was an old man of 77 years and he was still trying to write one of his dreams, but he hadn’t had any success. He woke up…

He woke up and looked at the clock. It was six in the morning. He thought.

He could remember his nightmare. He could remember everything about his nightmare, but it wasn’t anything that he wanted to write about. It wasn’t what he wanted to write and let people to know about.

That day was just spent on thought of his lost dreams and his last night's nightmare.

The next day he saw the same nightmare.

The next day was spent on the fright of his future.

And the next and the next days all were the same.

.

.

.

The boy was now 77 and all his life was passed on thinking on his nightmare which he had seen for the last 60 years.

But once again he saw a nice dream one night, one of his greatest dreams. You know, I say that dream was a gift for his good being in life.

The next morning the old man woke up so happy. He was so happy, because he understood something important. His dreams, everyone's dream is just for his/her happiness. And that day was spent completely on daydreaming and so he was happy.

The old man passed away that night.
